Bristol Palin Bashes Obama for Supporting Gay Marriage

When President Barack Obama announced that he now supports same-sex marriage, he mentioned that his change of heart happened in part because of his daughters, Sasha, 10, and Malia, 13, who have friends being raised by gay parents. We thought it was a relevant and touching anecdote -- but Bristol Palin does not agree. In a blog post on Patheos.com, Sarah Palin's daughter tears into Obama for his views on gay marriage -- and, moreover, for being influenced by his own children.

Patrice Wilson, Rebecca Black Producer, Releases "H.A.P.P.Y."

Follow along, THG readers:

Patrice Wilson is the man who wrote "Friday," the infamous single that put Rebecca Black on the musical map. And, as you might imagine, he took a lot of flak for penning such a ridiculous anthem.

Now, in response to the feedback, Wilson has come out with his very own music video for some single titled "H.A.P.P.Y."

"I figured I might as well kind of tell the story of what happened,” says Wilson. “When people see that it’s not getting to you, then maybe they can start liking you. With all the hate, I just wanted to make something that would make people smile.”

That's what Wilson attempts to do here, kicking off the video by crying in front of a fake news report. Watch, react now and then listen to Black's new track.

TheBlink-182 reunion tour has hit a snag. On Wednesday, the group announced that it was cancelling a string of live dates this month due to a medical emergency involving drummer Travis Barker.

"Blink-182's drummer, Travis Barker, required an urgent tonsillectomy with a recovery period expected to extend beyond the scheduled tour dates," read a note on their official site. "The band apologizes for any inconvenience as a result of these cancellations and thanks their fans for their ongoing support.
"

Though two upcoming dates at the Winstar Casino in Thackerville, OK have been rescheduled for September 13 and 14, the other six dates on their itinerary will not be rescheduled. Those dates include:

» 5/15 -- Rochester, NY @ Blue Cross Arena
» 5/17 -- Manchester, NH @ Verizon Wireless Arena
» 5/18 -- Uncasville, CT @ Mohegan Sun
» 5/19 -- Asbury Park, NJ @ The Bamboozle
» 5/20 -- Bethlehem, PA @ Sands Bethlehem Event Center
» 5/22 -- Quebec City, CA @ Colisee Pepsi Arena

Refunds will be available for each show at the point of purchase, except for the Bamboozle gig, where no refunds are being offered. New Jersey natives My Chemical Romance have stepped into the breach and will take over Blink's headlining slot at the May 19 Bamboozle gig.

"Blink-182 will be greatly missed, and all of us here with Travis a speedy recovery," the show's promoters said in a statement about what would have been Blink's debut Bamboozle appearance. Other acts on this year's three-day Bamboozle roster include: Foo Fighters, Skrillex, Bon Jovi, Gaslight Anthem, Mac Miller, Incubus and DJ Pauly D.

The band is slated to kick-off a two-month European tour in June and at press time Blink's Facebook page said those shows have not been affected.

Leica M Monochrom captures exclusively in black and white, costs far more than your color-abled shooter

Image

Wildly colorful photos got you down? There's an 18-megapixel full-frame sensor for that. The Leica M Monochom may seem an unlikely proposition, with its monochrome-only sensor and $8,000 price tag (not to mention the added financial burden that comes along with investing in a Leica M-mount), but the camera offers some unique benefits that, for some, may justify the cost. Because the sensor is capable of outputting one pixel of data for each pixel captured -- there's no hint of color mucking about -- the resulting images are incredibly sharp. There are low-light benefits as well, with the Monochrom offering a top ISO setting of 10,000, compared to 2500 with the aging M9. Other features include a 2.5-inch 230k-dot color LCD, a rangefinder-type optical viewfinder and a 14-bit uncompressed RAW mode that yields 36MB DNGs.

The camera itself offers an appearance consistent with other Leica snappers, and includes a magnesium alloy construction with hints of brass and chrome. Naturally, there's no video features to speak of, so no 1080p black-and-white shoots for you. We do have pricing and availability, however, though we don't exactly have the funds to match. The body-only M Monochrom is expected to retail for $7,970 when it hits stores (beginning with Leica's Washington DC showroom) in July. A new Leica APO-Summicron-M 50 mm f/2 ASPH prime lens will be available around the same time, for the modest sum of $7,195. There's a full PR just past the break.

Update: DPReview has posted a gallery of sample images. Don't be so quick to dismiss this camera -- plenty of deep-pocketed photographers have likely been waiting for something just like it. Hit up the source link after the break for the shots.

Scarface, Beanie Sigel A Dozen Songs Into Mac & Brad LP

'It can be done,' Face tells 'RapFix Live' of getting old pal Jay-Z to guest on collaboration album.

It all started in 1999 when Beanie Sigel enlisted Scarface to rap on "Mac & Brad," an album cut off of his fiery debut, The Truth. Thirteen years later, rap fans are still eagerly awaiting a Sigel/Face collaboration.

So the longtime friends have decided to give the people an entire album's worth. The Houston rap legend estimates that the album will be out sometime next year, but when he swung through "RapFix Live" this week, he gave an update on the LP and then fumbled around for his iPhone to let the Broad Street Bully tell it himself.

"We doin' songs, I got six, he got six," Scarface said. "It's a process that we go through to do this album."

Face Mob finally found Sigel's number in his address book and called his rap buddy, who picked up on the first ring. "It's a reality now; you know our word is our bond. We said we gonna do somethin', we gonna do it," Beanie said about the Mac & BradLP.

As a duo, Beans and Scarface displayed a tremendous amount of lyrical chemistry, but there were also times that they would throw Jay-Z in the mix. And as a trio, the well-regarded MCs created memorable cuts such as the introspective Hov track "This Can't Be Life" and the Kanye West-produced "Guess Who's Back" from Face's 2002 masterpiece, The Fix.

These days, getting Jay-Z and Kanye on a track today might be bit difficult, especially seeing as how Jigga and Sigel had a falling-out some years ago. But Scarface is hopeful that there's always a chance for old friends to reconcile. "I hope so. I look forward to it," he said. "It's hard to tell, but it's a reality, though. It's real, it can be done, we all alive."

Uncle Face admits that he himself isn't in contact with Jay-Z and Kanye like he once was — not that there's any beef, they just kind of lost touch.

"I used to have everybody's number on speed dial like that," Face explained. "I hit Jay-Z, and Jay-Z pick up on the first ring. Now I might hit Jay-Z and I might not hear from him for two years," he said laughing hysterically at his own joke. "I used to call Kanye, Kanye pick up on the first ring, now Kanye don't even got no phone, that's how much times have changed.

Do you think Jay or Kanye would hop on a Scarface/Beanie album? Tell us in the comments!

Song is a touching tribute to mother and pop-star son's early life together.
By Jocelyn Vena

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> has dropped his ode to his mama, Pattie Mallette, just in time for <a href="/news/articles/1684918/justin-bieber-taylor-swift-mothers-day-songs.jhtml">Mother's Day</a>. The song, a guitar-driven ballad titled "Turn to You," breaks down the pair's life together, and their early struggles as Mallette worked to raise a baby Bieber as a teenager.</P><P>Over jangly guitars, Bieber recalls, "You worked two jobs to keep a roof up over our heads/ You chose life for me, no you never gave up/ I admire you for the strength you instilled in me/ You were so young, you were just my age when you had me/ Mom, you were so brave, there was nothing that would stop or get in our way/ And I know you will always be there for me."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="MTV First: Justin Bieber" id="id:1684329" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>The song's empowering message really picks up on the chorus, when he proclaims, "So when you're lost/ And you're tired when you're broken in two/ Let my love take you higher cause I still turn to you."</P><P>"I wrote a song for my mom. But I'm going to put it out on Mother's Day," he told MTV News, explaining why Mama Mallette was worthy of her own track. "[It's] about the struggles, I say in the song. [It's about] just the struggles she went through and how brave she was, and I think the world needed to know that."</P><P>Shortly after releasing the song on Thursday, he had a very specific message for all the moms out there: "Help moms in need. Give them strength. thank u mom," he <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/justinbieber" target="_blank">tweeted</a>. "it's on ITUNES.
